Karima El Amrani started dancing at the age of ten in Aurillac with Vendetta Mathea at La Manufacture. She then trained in contemporary dance at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris.
She moved to London in 2011 where she worked for Hofesh Shechter. Since 2013, she collaborates with Christoph Winkler in Berlin, Clod Ensemble in London and Compagnie 7273 in Geneva. At the same time, she certifies herself in teaching Ashtanga yoga and joins the choreographic projects of David Drouard, Damien Jalet, Adriano Wilfert Jensen, Thomas Lebrun and more recently Myriam Gourfink.
The smitten company was created in 2018 and is articulated in the continuity of his career as a performer, as an extensible and porous research laboratory welcoming in its bosom multiple issues and moving desires. "Album de chorégraphies" (2020) is the first creation. In 2021, she engages with Anne-Sophie Lancelin on the co-creation of the duet "Les figures de l'attention".
In parallel to her career as a dancer, she launches in 2022 the project "En Conversation", a space for meetings and discussions between dancers, which she animates in several cultural places in Paris with a large audience of professional dancers and dance students.
