César Brodermann's class proposes a discovery of guided movement to investigate the infinite possibilities of the body and mind.

 

The objective of the class is to break familiar habits, break borders. Boundaries that have been created in the bodies.

 

Finding connection between the body and the present moment.

An opportunity to feel free, develop one's own expressive movement and healing through movement.

 

During the workshop you will investigate the latest choreographic works and research that César has been developing.

- bio -

Originally from Mexico City. Queer Multidisciplinary Artist, Contemporary Dancer, Choreographer, Photographer and Artistic Director of ATERNO Multidisciplinary Arts Collective.

His work combines movement, performance, photography and film, studying the unlimited potential of the human being and his connection with the earth. 

The search for freedom, distance and the notion of self are ideas that César constantly studies. He does this through artistic practices that he has discovered, implementing them in his daily life. 

From 2014 to 2018 César resides in New York where he graduates with honors from the Peridance Capezio Center Certificate Program in Contemporary and Classical Dance. During their time in New York City, they worked with a variety of artists and companies, including Andrea Miller's Gallim Dance.

 

From 2018 to 2022 he resides in Tel Aviv where he works as the first Mexican dancer in one of the most internationally recognized dance companies 'Batsheva Dance Company'- The Batsheva Ensemble under the direction of Gili Navot performing works by Ohad Naharin, Sharon Eyal, Noa Zuk, Bobbi Jenne & Or Schrieber as well as developing 5 creative processes as part of the Batsheva Dancers Create program 

His choreographic work has been presented at International Festivals such as The Lila López Festival in San Luis Potosí, The FIDCDMX in Mexico City, INSITU Dance Festival in New York, New Blue Dance Festival in Toronto Cesar presented their creation BORDERLINE at Suzanne Dellal Center in Israel, Tel Aviv. 

 

how to climb a mountain in collaboration with Guy Davidson and live music by Ariel Meriash is his longest durational performance to date with a duration of 8 hours, it was presented at the CCA in Tel Aviv, Israel 

 

In 2023 it is a recipient of the FONCA GRANT in México for his multidisciplinary scenic proposal NINGÚN LUGAR A DONDE IR 

 

He is the winner of the 2023 National Dance Award Guillermo Arriaga with his new multidisciplinary performance proposal “El Concreto es Eterno” in collaboration with Santiago Sánchez. 

 

He currently resides in Mexico City, continually creating and presenting his work internationally and creating bridges so that others can cross and pass limits and borders.
