This is an invitation to a BALL of reimagined Walloon dances.
We will learn the basic steps of circle dances, quadrilles, and improvise using recurring sequences. This BALL is open to everyone, with no prior dance experience required. It’s also an invitation to dance together.

We’ll open the BALL with an introduction to Walloon dance (as I understand it). Then we’ll listen to the original music, only to move away from it and let ourselves vibe until the lights go out.

Walloon dances are social couple dances, where partners interact with other couples, redrawing the space through movement.
Popular in village balls until the end of the 19th century, these dances were at the heart of social life for Ardennes peasants.
People would meet in neighboring villages, dance to live music, on rhythms between 100 and 140 BPM... Clubbing before electricity <3
