18.08 14:15 - 16:15
The workshop will begin with improvisation aimed at entering the body through an awareness of sensation and coordination. We will then explore tasks that look at generating movement intuitively, quieting the intellectual voice and focusing on the space, the bodies that fill it, and how this real-time event can encourage us to move. Use of voice, free writing of text as a group, and compositional tasks in pairs and small groups may all be involved as we dive into the world of 'Adam’. We will develop a physical choreographic score together that explores how to involve and rupture memory, using our experiences and histories- of childhood, adulthood, and dreams- to inspire movement.
