Since 2016, WeiWei and Zoltan have been in a pair creating and performing dance together.
Throughout this time, they have been polishing their distinct movement language, which is a true mould of their personal knowledge and imagination in dancing and performing.
In this workshop, they will share the core elements of their approach to dancing, which closely relates to joy, imagination, and the connection that comes from moving with a partner.
Rather than focusing on pre-written dance steps, the workshop centers on exploring physical challenges through improvisation, guided by clear instructions.
The workshop begins with a solo dance exploration, where participants will engage with a series of scores designed to deepen their awareness of body sensations and movement qualities. This section aims to enhance the experience of embodiment and the use of space.
Following this, the focus gets to dancing in pairs and\or trios. Bringing sensation and a variety of qualities in moving into the partner dance will open a new chapter in possibilities and playfulness. Their partner dance resonates the imagination of a solo in dancing together, where one may appear to dance alone while in close proximity and relation to the other. This approach fosters a deep sense of shared experience, as the dancers move as one, creating a rich, collective flow.
