This workshop focuses on generating movement from character development, offering dancers the opportunity to connect deeply with the internal aspects of a character and explore how these qualities influence physical expression. Through a combination of improvisation and guided exercises, you will investigate how a character’s emotions, history, and motivations translate into movement.

 

By working with character analysis and physical storytelling techniques, you'll learn how to ground your movement in the emotional landscape of your character. The focus will be on creating a movement that feels authentic and connected to the character’s journey, allowing you to bring greater depth to your performance and expand your creative vocabulary.

Omri Drumlevich is a choreographer, performer, movement director, and educator known for his work across stage, screen, and immersive theater. He is the founder and creative director of Blisspoint, an innovative Movement Arts and Education Company, and lives in upstate NY with his partner, Zina Zinchenko, and their two children.

 

A former dancer and rehearsal director with Batsheva Dance Company (2012–2017), Omri later performed as Macbeth and other leading roles in Punchdrunk’s Sleep No More (2018–2024). His choreographic works have been commissioned by The Lewis Center for the Arts and Israel’s Curtain Up Festival, with presentations at venues including the Suzanne Dellal Center and The Krannert Center. His film Under Your Name and various music videos have been showcased at festivals in Israel, Europe, and the U.S.

Omri is the curator of Centrifuge, a leading NYC choreographic lab, a senior Gaga teacher, and a Movement for Actors instructor at Stella Adler Studio. Committed to cultivating connection, expression, and transformation in individuals and communities through his work, he continues to internationally bridge movement research, theater, film, performance, and somatic exploration.​​
