R&sonances follows five dancers from different backgrounds, each with their own unique style and personality. They have never met, never danced together, yet come together in a self-directed residency to create, experiment, and seek out a shared language.
In this space between the known and the unknown, their exploration pushes them beyond technique—towards connection with others, with themselves, and with the deeper questions dance evokes.

At first glance, their styles and experiences seem to set them apart. But they all face the same paradoxes of their craft: to listen to the body and master it, to follow it and lead it.
Between impulse and control. Between spontaneity and discipline. Between sensation and representation.
And yet, there is an undeniable force — beyond words — that sets their bodies in motion and, more importantly, at stake.
R&sonances follows this creative journey at the heart of their passion.

R&sonances is a film about the love of dance, about the meeting between a person and their body, between a person and others — and about the traces left in us by the flow of movement that envelops us.

Stéphanie Paillet
Stéphanie is a self-taught filmmaker and photographer. She approaches her films and photos not as subjects, but as encounters — tributes to life, poetic and sensory journeys that celebrate the art of movement.
Capturing the moment, the detail, coming close to reveal the stories our bodies are willing to tell.

Nicolas Van Achter
Nicolas is a filmmaker, director of photography, and editor. From his background in anthropology and sociology (ULB), he learned that culture is rooted in language — and in myths that hold up our societies in all their beauty and complexity.
To explore these myths, he pursued film studies (INRACI).
His co-creation method is rooted in postmodern anthropology: nothing is made without the full collaboration of all parties involved.
