A MACHINE
THAT TREMBLES
- shortmovie -
Cesar Brodermann & Rebeca B. Cusi

A MACHINE THAT TREMBLES is a video piece revealing the fragility of an act of resistance. By imitating a machine that never stops, we explore the invisible: the physical, emotional, and mechanical strength required to hold on.
Ten bodies move in a silent dialogue, simulating mechanical force and their own limits, raising the question: what happens when we can no longer keep holding on?
Letting go does not mean stopping; sometimes, releasing is also an act of resistance.

Rebeca Becerra Cusi (b. June 14, 1998) is a Director and Photographer from Northern Mexico, currently based in Mexico City. She graduated from CENTRO in 2021 as a filmmaker and made her mark with her first short film, The Cage Has Turned Into a Bird (2022), which won a state grant. As she continues to explore new creative territories, Rebeca is currently working on music videos such as Principessa for Erre Tres and the dance short film Escape. Her approach to storytelling is ever-evolving, with an ongoing project in post-production that promises to push the boundaries of experimental dance. In a quieter corner of her practice, screenwriting has become a more personal exploration—an essential tool in shaping the narratives she is beginning to unravel. As always, her artistic journey is one of subtlety, balance, and discovery, with each project allowing her voice to expand further.
