- shortmovie -
Alive is a contemporary reimagining of the Pygmalion and Galatea myth, exploring longing, creation, and the fragile boundary between art and salvation. In the dim basement of a manufacturing workshop, a weary craftsman drifts through the monotony of daily labor. But beneath the routine lies a quiet, desperate plea—for something perfect, something transcendent, to break through the grey. At the end of one white night, that silent prayer takes form. As a lightbulb flickers to life, so does Galatea—born not of marble, but of yearning. Through visceral choreography and haunting visual poetry, Alive asks: what do we risk when we fall in love with our own idea of perfection?
A short film by Omri Drumlevich and Jonathan Averbuch.
